Hale County Leads the State in Cotton Production - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Agriculture plays a big role in Hale County economics. Hale County led the state in cotton production and ranked third in the nation last year. Cotton covers more than 127,000 acres in Hale County and last year a county record 465,000 bales were produced. Nearly 4.9 million bales were produced in the region last year, pumping an estimated $4 billion dollars into the regional economy.
