Murder Suspect in Custody

A suspect is now in custody in the murder of Summer Baldwin, whom we now know was five weeks pregnant when she was killed. Baldwin's body was found in a suitcase in the city landfill Tuesday morning. Autopsy reports confirm she died from blunt force trauma.

Fibers from the suitcase led police to Rosendo Rodriguez III. Police learned he was staying in a house in San Antonio and set up surveillance. San Antonio police served the warrant and arrested Rodriguez around 2:45 p.m. Thursday. Lubbock police are in San Antonio talking with Rodriguez and trying to get a search warrant of the house. The investigation continues in San Antonio.
