A number of small west Texas towns are losing their populations to bigger cities like Lubbock but Levelland is giving people a reason to stay. Economic Director David Quinn says, "Passionate people that drew a line in the sand and said we're not going to go away. We've got to find opportunities and take advantage of them." Quinn is part of a new economic development group made up of local business and community leaders. They meet monthly to discuss new ideas and ways to boost the economy. Levelland is also part of R.E.A.P. the Rural Enterprise Acceleration Partnership of the Southwest.
