Arrest In Downtown Lubbock Thursday Leads To Drug Charges

A drug investigation by Lubbock Sheriff's deputies has sent two parents to jail and their children to CPS.

Authorities arrested 24-year-old Pedro Alcorte and 24-year-old Cynthia Alcorte Thursday at Broadway and Avenue S, here in Lubbock.  Both are charged with possession of a controlled substance. Pedro Alcorte is also charged with evading arrest and endangering his children because authorities say he rammed a sheriff's car with his suburban, when they tried to pull him over. The two children are now in the care of their grandmother.
