It may seem like a typical West Texas small town. But, Lamesa is considered a secret treasure.
In a recent edition of the Contiential in flight magazine, writer Greg Lalas highlighted Lamesa in a story about "Seven Secret Hidaeways." In the article, he profiled K-Bob's barbecue, the Sky-Vu Drive-In, Friday night football and the annual Forrest Fest for musicians and poets.
Forrest Fest is a multi-discipline arts festival and the only poetry festival in the High Plains. The event will be held next year on April 28th and 29th and will include a performance by Texas poet laurete Allen Birkelbach. For more information on Forrest Fest click here.
