British scientists at Brunel University have created a diamond-like carbon material to coat medical implants. They say this will prevent metals in the implant from seeping into the surrounding tissue... something that could cause an allergic reaction. And since they've found it's too hard for bacteria to stick to this coating, researchers say the diamond material could also help prevent infections from an implant.
