Lubbock Sets Aside Thousands For Hurricane Relief

The bill to pay for hurricane relief is adding up for Lubbock.

Mayor Marc McDougal estimates the city has already spent $650,000 on Katrina relief efforts. Wednesday, the council approved an additional $500,000. They also approved $650,000 for Rita relief efforts.

And, Tuesday the county approved $500,000 for Rita relief. All of this money is supposed to be reimbursed by FEMA.
