LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Two people are in the Lubbock County Detention Center after a chase that started in Lubbock went into Hockley County and back to Lubbock.
The Department of Public Safety reported officers initiated a traffic stop when they saw a Suzuki motorcycle going 114 mph on Loop 289 Thursday afternoon. Authorities then discovered the driver, who has been identified as 36-year-old Joshua Wayne Stone, had a felony warrant.
Stone made it all the way into Hockley County but not quite to Smyer.
DPS reported its helicopter operators saw the rider dump the motorcycle on 37th Street where his girlfriend, 33-year-old Agellica Nicol Riojas, picked him up in a white Cadillac Escalade.
Both were arrested near Toledo on 39th Street. Stone was charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle, which adds onto his warrant, and Riojas was charged with hindering apprehension of a felon.
