Men vs. Women's Brains

You may have suspected it all along, but now, a team of scientists at Columbia University say they've seen enough evidence to be sure that there is a reason why men and women think differently.

"Men and women have very different brains- the anatomy, the function and the chemistry of their brains is significantly different," says Dr. Marianne Legato, a researcher.

Dr. Legato says there is even a hormone in the brain called Cortizol, that causes men and women to react differently after an argument. The bottom line scientifically, according to Dr. Legato, men never remember and women never forget. In fact, that's the name of her book on the subject.

Dr. Legato says despite the differences, research shows the male and female brain can adapt. In other words, she says as more women enter the workforce, and more dads volunteer to stay home and watch the kids, Dr. Legato says she predicts men and women will begin to think more alike, because our brains are always chemically adapting and evolving.
