Right now, all roads lead out of Houston, slowly.
Texas Department of Transportation closed inbound lanes of I-45, I-10 and Highway 290 Thursday morning in the largest reversal of traffic in Texas history. Late Thursday afternoon, the governor changed all lanes of I-45 to outbound traffic. Traffic has been bumper to bumper since Wednesday. Some drivers have been stuck in traffic for more than twelve hours and have run out of gas. The governor has ordered fuel tankers to try and get these lines moving. If you are traveling, you're urged to call 1-800-452-9292 to check road conditions first.
