New & Improved Test For Prostate Cancer

A new blood test could help identify prostate cancer more accurately than the current PSA blood test.

The new test uses 22 different biomarkers in the blood to measure the health of the prostate, whereas the PSA test looks for just one. The study in the New England Journal of Medicine says this new test appears to be over 80 percent accurate in finding prostate cancer in patients.

It's not available yet, but the new test could one day be used along with the standard PSA test to help reduce the number of false positives.
