Police Nab Suspect in Robbery of Judge's Wife

Hours after NewsChannel 11 aired images of a robbery suspect Tuesday, Lubbock Police made an arrest.

Lubbock Police arrested the man, they say, robbed the wife of a local judge. Police say Marie Ann Puryear was standing outside the 50 Yard Line restaurant, Friday night, when a man thew her to the ground and stole her purse. A short time later, surviellance video captured the man using Puryear's credit card at a Lubbock convenience store.

Tips to Crime Line led to the arrest of 39-year-old Johnny Mckenzie, Tuesday afternoon. Police say Mckenzie has a history of credit card abuse and theft.  He now faces a charge of aggravated robbery.

Mrs. Puryear remains in fair condition at Covenant Medical Center, recovering from emergency hip surgery.
