Flu shots are now available for high risk adults. You'll recall hundreds stood in line for hours at Lubbock clinics and pharmacies to get those flu shots last fall.
The health department will administer 900 does of flu vaccine on Friday. But only high risks adults qualify. High risk groups are as follows: adults, 65 years or older, residents of long term care facilities, those with chronic medical conditions between the ages of 19 to 64, and pregnant women, health care personnel who provide direct care and live-in or out of home caregivers to persons in the high risk group.
The clinic is this Friday at the health department at 1902 Texas. It starts at 10 o'clock Friday morning and shots will be given until doses run out or until 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Shots are $15 a person. Medicare will be accepted.
