Atkins Raises Money for United Way

In an hour and half, Atkins Junior High raised $1,000 for United Way Friday. United Way gave students a chance to take a break from school by hosting a play day. Z-102 radio played music while students played football, soccer and frisbee outside.

Atkins has more than 500 students, and each paid $2.00 to join in on the fun.

United Way Looking For Support From Community
United Way gave nearly $400,000 to Red Cross and the Salvation Army for evacuees. But now, they say money is needed to help support the 24 local agencies that help Lubbock residents every-day.
