Lubbock Hosts County Judges, Commissioners Conference

600 people equals about $400,000 to the Lubbock economy. That's how much money the Lubbock Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas Conference will bring in.

Commissioners and judges from more than 100 Texas counties kicked off the annual conference at the Lubbock Civic Center Monday.

"We expect to have lots of information about new legislation and how to operate the county more efficiently," said Lubbock County Commissioner Ysidro Gutierrez.

The conference runs through Thursday.
