The Lubbock Music Festival is underway. Friday and Saturday night dozens of performers will take the stage in the Depot Entertainment district.
The main stage at 16th Street & Buddy Holly Avenue is already set up out for the festival. About 200 performers will be featured throughout the weekend. The free concert will begin Friday night with performances starting at 6:30 p.m.. The headliner, Pat Green, with take the stage at 8:30.
Green tells NewsChannel 11 performing in Lubbock is extra special for him, considering he lived here for a decade. "Going back to Lubbock..it's always a pleasure to come home. At least I had a home for 10 years out there, where I met my girl and I got my life together. I started playing music so it's nostalgic for me and not only that but it's fun to see the folks," he says.
Billy McClaran will open for Green.
