Early voting is just around the corner, and when you head to the polls this years things will look a little different. That's because Lubbock County residents will use electronic voting machines. Sunday County Commissioner Ysdiro Gutierrez was at Our Lady of the Grace Catholic Church teaching parishioners how to use the new machines.
"We're showing them how to turn the wheel and push the buttons so they'll be familiar with the electronic machine before they get to the poll," Ysidro Gutier
Eight-hundred electronic voting machines were purchased for Lubbock County. The county paid one million dollars of the cost and grant money will cover the rest.
