Hospital orders in Lubbock are not being filled and procedures may be delayed if the public does not donate blood.
"We're actually out of O negative, and not able to fill hospital orders, we're also in short supply of B negative, AB negative and we can always use blood donors of all types," said Les Long with UBS.
United Blood Services issued a critical appeal for O negative blood. Les Long told NewsChannel 11 treatments and surgeries could be delayed until the blood supply is built back up.
To donate, stop by UBS at 2523 48th Street or call (806) 741-1752 to make an appointment. Donors must be at least 17-years-old and in good health.
