Texas Tech is making its first impression on what could be its next class of freshmen.
Three-thousand high school seniors and their parents toured the Texas Tech campus Monday as part of University Day. Students got the chance to meet with academic counselors, tour residence halls and learn about social organizations. Parents we spoke with say they were pleased with the West Texas hospitality.
"They welcome you with open arms and we're very pleased with what we've seen," said B.J. Benda, a parent from Arlington.
"It's a big campus, and she can live a big social campus life but still have one on one attention," said Marcia Thome, a parent from Sugarland.
Texas Tech will host another University Day in February.
