Teacher You Can Count On: Monte George

At Coronado High School Coach Monte George practices hard. But even after pushing his girls soccer team to the limit, they still come back asking for more. And, for Jennifer Dane nominating her coach, Monte George was an easy decision. "I nominated him because he puts a team effort into the sport." stated  Dane.

And it is this team effort that Coach George knows his girls will use in their games. "Soccer is a players game, and not a coaches game. My job is in practice, it is to work them and get them prepared for the game. And the game is their job." remarks George. And it is durring practice where Coach George has been known to be tough on his girls, but the girls soccer team at coronado keeps asking for more. "The girls have asked me to be tougher and a little harder on them." said Coach George.

And after a full season of playing George hopes that his team walks away with a sense of accomplishment. "And they are going to have enjoyed it because they have worked hard and they have hopefully reaped the benefits of all their hard work." said George. Next week we go from the soccer field to a "one of a kind" classroom to meet an inspiring art teacher.
