Gomez Sentenced To 40 Years For Murder

A Hockley County murderer will spend the next 40 years in prison.

Friday morning, a Levelland jury sentenced Michael Gomez to 40 years. Thursday, that same jury found Gomez guilty in the shooting death of Julio Arismendez. Arismendez was found inside an abandoned farm house, Northeast of Levelland in June of 2004. He died from multiple gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma.

Cody Beaty is also charged with Arismendez's murder. He is still awaiting trial.
