Weekend Shooting Leaves Lubbock Woman In Critical Condition - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Monday morning a Lubbock man is behind bars after police say he shot his wife. NewsChannel 11's Suleika Acosta brings us this story.

Police tell us Justo Mendez shot Patricia Romero at their home at 7704 Avenue V early Sunday Morning. When officers arrived they found the 30-year-old with a gunshot wound to her back. According to police reports the couple was arguing when he allegedly shot her.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center where she remains in critical condition. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.

Monday morning 53-year-old Justo Mendez is in the Lubbock County Jail. He is charged with aggravated assault.
