Stop students on the Texas Tech campus and they say things like: "Everybody is excited about the game." and "I'm nervous." The talk on campus this week revolves around, for the most part, one thing: plans for the big game. Dylan McLaughlin says, "If it's away, we watch on the projector, get a keg. You know the usual." Jeff Fortune explains, "I'm going to be in Austin. So, I'm super excited."
With Tech in the BCS rankings for the first time in history, excitement oozes around these parts and t-shirts hot off the presses beg "beat Texas." Red Raider Outfitters is making sure there's a sea of red in Austin. When we ask manager Stephen Spiegelberg what Raider Red is doing to the longhorn on one t-shirt, he says, "The mascot is definitely choking the longhorn which Texas tends to do in big games. So we'll see if we can't get a win in Austin.
There are plenty more to choose from at the store, we'll let you discover for yourself how some of the others put down rival Texas! And we'll leave it to the players to crush the Longhorns on the field. Texas Tech cornerback SirDon Lewis says, "This has been a long time since we've been 6-0... since 1998 and we have big expectations this year for our football team. We're planning on going all the way." Fortune adds, "I'm super confident. They'll play their hearts out and I think they'll pull out a victory."
