Linda Armstrong Kelley Shares Story of Abuse - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

October is domestic violence awareness month. Tuesday night, Lubbockites heard a special message from the women you know better as "Lance Armstrong's mother." Linda Armstrong Kelley shared her own story of abuse at the McInturff Center.

Armstrong grew up with an abusive father. The event is just one of many that are helping raise awareness this month. Wednesday, Women's Protective Services will sponsor the Band Together Against Violence event at Texas Tech. Bands will play at Urbanovsky Park from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

T-shirts honoring survivors and victims will be strung across the park as part of the Clothesline Project.
