Alarms could be heard throughout east Lubbock Wednesday morning. The Lubbock Fire Department was called to the 2000 block of east 50th street around 3 a.m. A loose valve at BC Supply allowed liquid nitrogen to leak from a tank. That triggered an alarm, calling out haz-mat crews.
Fortunately, there was never any danger to the public.
