Walking a mile could help the American Heart Association in the fight against the country's number 1 cause of death, heart disease.
Heart disease and stroke kill more than 930,000 Americans each year. Saturday more than 1,000 area residents took steps to change that in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk. The walk was held on the Texas Tech campus Saturday with the starting line at Tech's Frazier Alumni Pavilion. The goal is to raise $110,000.
