Summer Baldwin
New developments in the murder investigation of Summer Baldwin.
Investigators revealed evidence of sexual assault at Tuesday afternoon's grand jury hearing. The grand jury indicted Rosendo Rodriguez on capital murder.
Interim District Attorney Matt Powell tells NewsChannel 11, the charge was upgraded to capital murder for three reasons. The first being the sexual assault, the second because two people were killed, since Baldwin was pregnant and the third for killing a child under the age of six, that child being the fetus.
You'll recall a city worker found Baldwin's body in a suitcase at the city landfill last month. Investigators traced debit transactions to a suitcase Rodriguez purchased the night before Baldwin was found. Police then tracked him to San Antonio where he was arrested.
