What's good for the Lubbock economy could mean more money out of your pocket.
The cost of living in Lubbock has increased nearly 8% in the past year. We're paying more money for nearly everything we buy, but the biggest increases are utilities and transportation.
Utilities have increased nearly 26% in one year. Gas has decreased this month but transportation costs are still up 15% over last year. Clothing costs have risen 9% while groceries are up 5% . We've also seen slight increases in education, health care, housing and restaurant prices in the past 12 months.
