Council Looking For Solution To Tech Terrace Parking - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

A Lubbock city councilman say progress is being made in the Tech Terrace area, but more is needed.

"The first nine months of this year the police department has written thousands and thousands of citations in tech terrace and made a number of arrests is proof that improvement in enforcement," said City Council member Tom Martin.

Thursday, the police department presented the council with a nine month study on its enforcement in Tech Terrace. The study was the result of numerous citizen complaints about parking and noise.

The council is now discussing a number of possible solutions to the parking problems including the expansion of the parking permit area and Citibus shuttles from south and west Lubbock to Texas Tech University.
