"Heat The Town" Begins Saturday - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The cost of heating homes this winter is expected to rise at least 70% this winter. While it's hard for everyone, it's most difficult on low income families.

Saturday, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America will be going around Lubbock for the annual "heat the town" event. Crews will be making free heater repairs to those in need. Their goal is to prepare 100 homes for winter.

People in need should call 2-1-1, which is a 24-hour information and referral line.
