Once the candy is eaten and the costumes are put away, there's one more thing you need to check and that is your Halloween decorations. Jack O'Lantern buckets are being recalled. The buckets come with eight tea lights. If all eight candles are lit at the same time, it can generate too much heat and pose a fire hazard. The buckets are about 6.25 inches high and about 7 inches in diameter at the top. They have item number 14609-00 or 14609-02 written on a sticker located on the bottom of the buckets. Consumers are urged to use only a single candle at a time and make sure the wick is trimmed. Grocery and discount stores have been selling the decorations since July for $2 to $3. Candle Gift Set
Wal-Mart is recalling a Holiday Time candle gift set. Decorative covering on the candles can ignite, posing a fire hazard. Recalled sets include three birch bark covered candles, a set with pine cones, cinnamon sticks and berries and a set with pyramid shaped candles, covered in glitter. The candles were sold at Wal-Mart stores from September 2004 through January 2005 for $10. Consumers should return the candles to Wal-Mart for a refund or ( click here )for more information.
Pencil & Sharpener Kit
Target is recalling a jumbo pencil and sharpener set. The razor blade on the sharpener is exposed when the cover is removed and a finger can easily fit inside the sharpener hole, posing a laceration hazard. The jumbo pencil has a red eraser on the end and comes with a pink or blue sharpener in a clear plastic pouch. Model number 70505 is printed on the pouch. Target sold the sets from July through August of this year for $1. Consumers should return them to the nearest Target for a refund. For more information, ( click here ).
Child Craft is recalling two of its baby cribs with model numbers 37001 and 27601. A wooden strip on the crib could come loose and trap the baby in the slats. Juvenile furniture stores sold the cribs from April through October of this year for $350-$500. The recalled cribs have their model number 37001 or 27601 printed on a label on the bottom rail of the head or foot board. The 37001 crib comes in three finishes: chestnut, white and cherry. Moms who like to get fit with their babies, could be in trouble if they're using the jogster speedster stroller by Kelty. The stroller's handle clips can unlock during use, causing the stroller to collapse. The recalled stroller has an aluminum frame and a cloth seat, with a sun canopy. The recalled stroller has model number 20050016 and serial numbers: S1000001D0504 through S1000800D0504 and S1000001D0506 through S1000200D0506. Each stroller has a tag, located inside the child’s seat compartment, which lists the model name and number. A sticker on the rear frame lists the serial number. There are two yellow handle-locking clips, one on each side of the stroller frame that secures the handle from movement. Call Kelty at 1-800-535-3589 to see if your stroller is affected.
Finally, a kids Reebok fleece pullover and pant set is recalled because the zipper and pull on the top can detach, posing a choking hazard. Only Reebok fleece pullover/pant sets with navy blue quarter-zip zippers are being recalled. The fleece pullover/pant sets were sold in navy blue/red and navy blue/pink in sizes up to children’s size 7. “Reebok” is printed across the front of the pullover. The pullovers have a hood that can be folded under the collar. Some of the recalled pullovers were sold with matching mittens. The style numbers were printed on the store tag only and end in: 1816, 2816, 3816, 1816N, 2816N, 1814, 2814, 4814, and 5814 . The sets were sold at Gordmans, Mervyns, JC Penney, Kohl’s, The Bon, Fred Meyer, Ross, DD’s, Edisons, Macy’s, AJ Wright, and Reebok Corporate Headquarters retail store in Canton, Mass. from September 2004 through February 2005 for between $17 and $36.
