"Bracing" for Halloween

Orthodontists are bracing for post-Halloween calls from parents about brackets and wires that have been pulled apart by the "okay, it's Halloween, so you can eat that tonight" problem.

That's according to the American Association of Orthodontists, which reminds kids with braces to please follow the rules and avoid sticky candies and stuff with caramel and gum. That even though it is Halloween, kids with wires should also steer clear of hard ingredients, and they say even bobbing for apples can cause a fright to the bite.
