Lubbock Police Find Missing Plainview Woman

A Plainview woman is safe and her accused kidnapper behind bars. Lubbock Police found Sophia Anne Alaniz and Marcus Edward Barrios at a Central Lubbock apartment complex, early Wednesday morning.

Hale County authorities had been searching for the two since Monday when Barrios allegedly abducted his ex-girlfriend from a home in Plainview. Lubbock Police found Barrios Wednesday morning while they were responding to another call at the Hickory Tree Apartments in the 1600 Block of 16th Street. Officers were investigating a drug activity call when they recognized a car in the parking lot that matched the description of the one, Barrio's and Alaniz were reportedly traveling in. Shortly after, police saw Barrios came out of one of the apartments with Alaniz. That's when police arrested him on a kidnapping warrant.

Alaniz is now back in Plainview, and Barrios is in the Lubbock County Jail. He'll be arraigned on kidnapping charges and taken back to Hale County.
