President Bush Appoints West Texas Native To Lead Gulf Recovery - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

A West Texas native, has been assigned to a major construction project by President Bush.

Tuesday, Bush selected Donald Powell to oversee the federal response and the rebuilding along the Gulf region. Powell is a former president of First National Bank in Amarillo, and is currently the Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

If the name still doesn't ring a bell, perhaps this might...his son is Lubbock's Interim District Attorney, Matt Powell.
