In south Lubbock, signs of change will look more like a blast from the past.
Stellar Development broke a champagne bottle on a bulldozer Wednesday morning to celebrate the groundbreaking of Vintage Township.
The 321 acre community is designed to be pedestrian friendly with safe streets leading to schools and businesses. The architecture will reflect a number of styles including colonial, Victorian and neoclassical.
"We have three core values which are tradition, community, and home and we want to build a neighborhood that's build around tradition, a neighborhood that emphasizes community and a place where you really feel like home," said Paul Stell, Stellar Development CEO.
Vintage Township is located off 114th Street between Quaker and Slide. Home construction is slated to begin in February.
