A Lubbock businessman convicted of multiple counts of conspiracy and bank fraud could get a new trial, or his convictions overturned.

This week, U.S. District Judge Sam Cummings granted Monte Hasie's motion for more time to file briefs. Once Cummings receives those briefs, he will consider overturning Hasie's convictions or he could order a new trial. Hasie's attorneys now have until January 13th to file those briefs.
