Three South Plains educators are being recognized for their efforts inside the classroom.
The Science Teachers Association of Texas is honoring Marianne Dobrovolny as the state's outstanding Rookie Science Teacher of the Year. The high school teacher says its important to get kids interested in learning by "doing" rather than simply "listening."
"I'm a very hands on person. I like kids to get into Science rather than stand up and lecture and I want them to experience the Science," said Marianne Dobrovolny of Roosevelt High School.
Dobrovolny credits her former teachers at Texas Tech University for her success.
