Former Lubbock Youth Hockey Coach Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison

A former Lubbock youth hockey coach received an eight year sentence for possessing child pornography. A Lubbock federal judge sentenced Charles Ladd Taylor on Thursday. However, this isn't the last time he'll see a courtroom.

Taylor is still awaiting a state trial for state charges. He was first charged with child pornography in March. Two months later, a Lubbock grand jury indicted him on one count of sexual assault. That incident started in March when a 15-year-old accused him of sexual misconduct.

Taylor was the coach of the Lubbock Trojans Youth Hockey League. A federal court affidavit NewsChannel 11 obtained at the time states, "Taylor had been picking the boy up from school, taking him to his residence where he was to clean and do chores around Taylor's residence in an effort to pay him back for some hockey equipment." In the affidavit, the boy said, "while at the residence, he played video games, wrestled and engaged in sexual acts." It said the abuse went on for one month.

Taylor still faces sexual assault charges, he could get two to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
