Police say the robbery reported by a McDonald's employee Thursday night, now appears to be an inside job.
The incident was first reported around 9:30 Thursday night near South Loop 289 and University. The woman told police that she had just left work at McDonald's and was on her way to make a deposit at the bank, when her vehicle was hit from behind. She said a man came up to her window, showed a gun, and took the money.
LPD detectives continued their investigation, and discovered the heist was planned by two McDonald's employees and one former employee. Charges are now pending against all three. The money has since been recovered.
