A young eagle is flying free for the first time thanks to the South Plains Wildlife Center.

The eagle was originally found in the Dallas area with severe head trauma and blindness. It was sent to the Wildlife Center in Lubbock for its recovery. After several months, the eagle has healed and was released into the wild at White River Lake Friday.
