Neighbors Help Police Crack Down On Drugs

Lubbock Police have neighbors to thank for the arrest of 11 people.

Friday afternoon authorities found crack cocaine and marijuana inside two homes, both just blocks away from Lubbock High School. Police say complaints from neighbors led them to the homes at 1919 17th Street and 2006 17th Street.

"I figured it was about time, I think it's great, I think it's about time," said one 17th Street resident.

"I think it's really good for the neighborhood. There's been a lot of activity going on around here, a lot of shady activity, and think it's about time we get to some normal times around here," said another neighbor.

Those arrested face charges of possession of a controlled substance and one person faces child endangerment charges.
