Failure To Render Aid Leads To 20 Year Sentence

A Lubbock man who fled the scene after hitting a woman on a bicycle will spend the next 20 years in prison.

Jurors handed down the maximum sentence to Ricky Crawford Thursday morning, just one day after they found him guilty of failure to stop and render aid. Crawford was using a wheelchair in court this week but jurors determined he was the man driving the car last November when bicyclist Sheila Austin was hit. She died days later.
