Plainview Businessman Seeks Election To State House - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

State Representative Pete Laney will have some competition come election time.

Thursday Jim Landtroop announced his campaign to run for Laney's seat. He's seeking the Republican nomination for District 85, which covers 16 counties including Terry, Lynn and Garza.

Jim Landtroop is a Plainview businessman who lists his top priorities as education, oil and agriculture and bringing power back to local governments.

"If we're going to be able to work toward the future for our children and for our grandchildren, to have a better tomorrow, than we need to start that future today," said Landtroop.

The election is November 2006.
