Sprint Acquires Lubbock-Based Alamosa

Sprint Next-Tel is buying a Lubbock based wireless company.

Late Monday afternoon, Sprint announced its buy-out of Alamosa holdings for $3.4 billion. The deal also includes assumption of $900 million in debt.

Sprint expects to close the deal by the first quarter of 2006.
