Three Republicans are now vying for the Texas House of Representatives Seat in District 83.

Lubbock businessman Van Wilson announced his candidacy Monday. Wilson is the owner of Grassy Creek Developers.

"Being a small business man, I understand regulations and the frustrations we go through every day. I'm going to work to make life better for West Texas," said Wilson.

Wilson will face incumbent Delwin Jones and former Lubbock City Councilman Frank Morrison on the ballot.
