Lubbock Retailers Optimistic About Shopping Season

Lubbock retailers are optimistic about holiday sales after the Thanksgiving weekend.

Shoppers wrapped around the Target building before dawn Friday to find early bird bargains, but South Plains Mall tells us "traffic" was slower than usual for Black Friday. However, marketing manager Beth Bridges says sales were extremely strong. They're expecting December 17th to be their busiest day of the year. That's the Saturday before Christmas.

Others prefer to get their shopping done online, away from the crowds. Monday is considered the biggest cyber-shopping day of the season.
