Source: Lubbock Co. Sheriff A plea agreement has shaved at least 10 years off the sentence for a Hockley County murder suspect.
Wednesday, Cody Lee Beaty pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of Julio Arismendez. The judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison. He had originally faced up to 20 years.
Arismendez died from multiple gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma in June 2004. His body was found inside an abandoned farm house northeast of Levelland.
Earlier this year, a jury sentenced Michael Gomez to 40 years in prison for the murder.
