For one Houston man, the road to higher education led him to Texas Tech, but then turned him in the direction of Iraq.
That's because Etebong Udoh joined the Army Reserves and was called to duty in the summer of 2004. He served a 10 month deployment and is now making plans to return to Texas Tech. Udoh participates in a mentoring program at Tech and was honored Thursday during a ceremony.
Udoh received a U.S. flag that once flew over Iraq. It was given to him by his mentor Rich Baker on behalf of Congressman Randy Neugebauer.
