The 49th Anniversary of Santa Land

For almost half a century the city of Lubbock has hosted Santa Land. Saturday evening the festive holiday village opened for the forty-ninth year.

Santa Land features a sixty foot tall Christmas Tree along with animated holiday scenes. Live entertainment will be provided every night from six-thirty p.m. until eight p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be their to take all of those Christmas wishes.

"It's a neat place. Kids can come and talk to Santa. Sometimes they have to stand in line for a while to get their but I know they are excited to do that. We have live entertainment every night and it's just a fun place to come and enjoy the Christmas season," said Randy Truesdell, with the city parks and recreation department.

Santa Land is free of charge and is open nightly from six p.m. until ten p.m.

When going out to Santa Land park officials ask that you use the East Broadway entrance.
