A survey by the North American Spine Society shows only one out of 14 people with back or neck pain will actually seek medical care to get it fixed. Even at those odds, that means about 500,000 Americans every year decide they want surgery to get some relief. If you're toying with that decision here is something you should know before your back pain takes you into surgery.

A 47-year-old man is in critical condition after police say he ran into a moving train. Lubbock Police are investigating whether alcohol played a factor in a collision near the 7700 Block of 34th Street. Police say Roy Powell was heading West on 34th just before 2:45 Sunday. Police say he failed to yield the right of way to the train. Powell's driver's side slammed into one of the last cars on the train.
